I’ve known since childhood that law could be a force for good. Watching lawyers in my family transform people’s worst moments into hope showed me that this profession was about more than winning cases—it was about being someone’s champion when they needed it most. That early inspiration led me to Charleston School of Law, through 500+ hours of pro bono work, and eventually to over 30 trials where I’ve had the privilege of telling my clients’ stories to judges and juries who needed to hear them.
When the odds seem insurmountable, when the challenges appear overwhelming, that’s where we thrive.
What makes my practice different isn’t just my experience—it’s my refusal to practice law from behind a desk. When a severely injured child’s case seemed impossible, I drove hours to canvas neighborhoods until I found the witness who changed everything. When youth in detention centers were forgotten, I organized a book drive that collected 4,000 volumes. When those same facilities operated unconstitutionally for 50 years, I led the legal effort that shut them down. This is what I mean when I say your case gets all of me, not just my legal knowledge.
Today, after representing over 2,000 clients and earning recognition from peers including an AV-Preeminent® rating, what drives me remains unchanged: the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and fought for.
