Before founding this practice, I spent seven years representing people who couldn’t afford a lawyer — trying dozens of cases to verdict, learning what it means to fight for someone when the system is working against them. One client told me he didn’t have a single book to read. That conversation turned into a drive that put over 4,000 books into juvenile facilities statewide — and into a civil rights lawsuit that shut down a fifty-year-old detention center for good.

That’s the same fight I bring to every case today. My clients are rarely the most powerful people in the room. They’re people who were hurt, overlooked, or let down by someone who should have known better. That’s always been my corner of the courtroom.

I’ve known since childhood that law could be a force for good. Watching lawyers in my family transform people’s worst moments into hope showed me that this profession was about more than winning cases—it was about being someone’s champion when they needed it most. That early inspiration led me to Charleston School of Law, through 500+ hours of pro bono work, and eventually to over 30 trials where I’ve had the privilege of telling my clients’ stories to judges and juries who needed to hear them.
