Why Annie Andrews Serves on the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association

The South Carolina Women Lawyers Association (SCWLA) is a statewide organization dedicated to advancing the interests of women in the legal profession across South Carolina.

Through mentorship programs, leadership development, and advocacy on issues affecting women lawyers and judges, SCWLA works to ensure that women in the profession have the support and opportunities they need to thrive at every stage of their careers.

Annie Andrews has served on SCWLA‘s Board of Directors since 2023, contributing to the organization’s mission of building a stronger, more supportive community for women across the legal profession in South Carolina.

Annie’s involvement with SCWLA reflects values that run through her own practice at Annie Andrews Law. As a trial attorney who built her career representing plaintiffs in catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice cases, she understands what it takes to advocate persistently on behalf of people who need a strong voice in their corner. That same commitment to mentorship and advocacy is what draws her to SCWLA‘s mission of helping women lawyers succeed and lead. Donating her time to the organization is, for Annie, a natural extension of the same values that shape her work for clients every day.

Annie brings substantial trial experience to her practice, which has focused primarily on catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice cases for half of her career.
Her litigation foundation was built at the Charleston County Public Defender’s Office, where she tried dozens of cases to verdict, developing the courtroom skills she now brings to complex civil matters. She later concentrated her practice exclusively in these areas at a mid-sized firm before founding Annie Andrews Law, where she is dedicated to helping families seek justice after life-altering circumstances.
