SCAJ‘s mission is to serve its members and those they are sworn to protect: advocating for people harmed by the actions of others, no matter how powerful, wealthy, or well-connected those responsible may be, while working to uphold the constitutions of South Carolina and the United States, protect the rights of the individual, and preserve open and fair courtrooms. SCAJ‘s Board of Governors includes representatives from each judicial circuit across the state, giving local attorneys a voice in shaping the organization’s advocacy and priorities.
In 2026, Annie Andrews began serving on SCAJ’s Board of Governors representing the Ninth Circuit, which covers Charleston and Berkeley counties.
Annie’s work on the Board of Governors reflects the same principles that guide her practice at Annie Andrews Law. Every day, her firm represents people facing catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice, often against well-resourced opposing parties. SCAJ’s mission of fighting for the rights of the individual and preserving fair access to the courts is central to making sure those clients have a real chance to be heard. Annie donates her time to SCAJ because defending the civil justice system is not separate from her work for clients, it is part of the same fight.
